A full length release, Within Darkness is perhaps producer / songwriter Jamie Dull's most personal, painful and honest album yet. Recorded partially through the Covid-19 pandemic, and during a severe back injury that resulted in surgery, Jamie somehow managed to push through the hardest time in his life to record some of the most enraging yet calming music of his career. Featuring special guest performances from Greg Fundis (Led Zeppelin II / Fareed Haque), Dagan Thogerson (Murder By Death), Lynnea Malley, Jarrett Donogue, and Charles Williams (Stampy), Within Darkness pushes the boundaries with songs that are heavier, faster, more insane, prettier, and more dramatic than anything else in the Electric Villain catalogue. At times while recording the vocal screams in songs like 'Sheathe' and 'Immobile', songs that are about Jamie's back injury, he was in immense pain, yet remaining honest in the moment. This album represents the time frame in which Jamie finally found his voice, sound and style.
